Gavi Reiter (she/they) is the Fossil Fuel Phaseout Campaign Coordinator, collaborating with organizations across the US Climate Action Network.
Gavi is a climate organizer, campaign strategist, and emergency manager who knows that those on the frontline of crisis need to be at the forefront of change. Their journey in climate justice began in 2003, when their community opposed private utility infrastructure near schools.
Gavi also serves as the California Organizer at Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action, mobilizing the Jewish community for bold climate action. Previously, Gavi supported grassroots climate justice organizing at the Pisces Foundation, advanced down-ballot climate elections with Lead Locally, worked on New York City’s COVID-19 emergency response, and advocated for global climate justice with SustainUS at the United Nations.
Gavi holds an M.S. in nonprofit leadership and a B.A. in earth sciences from the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, hiking, dancing, and having bountiful potlucks with friends.
